Parua Bay Tavern

Have a Beer on the Bay

They poured the first beer here way back in 1902, so when you walk through the door you’re stepping into a piece of Northland history.

The grand old girl had major spruce-up in 2010, so she’s looking great inside and out.

Cold beer, super tasty food, stunning harbour views and good old-fashioned Kiwi hospitality...

Yep, she’s a classic alright.

The Riverhead

Rollicking Since 1857

This classic Kiwi watering hole may have the country’s second oldest liquor license, but she’s undergone a dramatic change of late.

Staying true to the rich history of the pub and the local area, owners Paula and Stephen have restored this iconic establishment in spectacular fashion.

So if you’re after a true blue Kiwi pub experience, it’s time you pulled up a pew at The Riverhead Tavern.

The White Swan

The Finest Cut

Take a NZ Railways admin building in Lower Hutt. Then cut it into six pieces, truck them to Greytown, put them back together and painstakingly restore. Yep, as classic pubs go,
The White Swan is one out of the box!

This majestic country hotel opened in 2003 and she’s been a must-stop for locals and travellers ever since. Want to eat, drink and be merry?
Then go no further.
